Court and Reign of Francis the First, King of France 2 Volume Set

This two-volume work by the historian Julia Pardoe (1804-62), published in 1849, attempts to remove the accretions of myth which have clung to Francis I and to his court. The two volumes put Francis' accession in 1515 into its historical context, and end with his death in 1547.
