Personal Narrative of a Visit to Ghuzni, Kabul, and Afghanistan, and of a Residence at the Court of Dost Mohamed

This is an important early description of Afghanistan, published in 1840 by the barrister and traveller Godfrey Thomas Vigne (1801-63), perhaps the first Englishman to reach Kabul. It is a compelling account of a remote but strategically significant country and its local life and customs.
